This RCI Metalworks plate is built to fix that. It is a laser-cut, flat-bottomed panel that covers the transfer case, the third crossmember and the exhaust pipe, and its edges are reinforced between the crossmembers so it keeps its shape when it takes a hit.

You pick the material: 3/16" steel or 1/4" aluminum. Steel comes with a satin black powdercoat as standard, and the aluminum plate is offered either powdercoated or bare. The smooth underside is meant to slide over rocks and ledges rather than hang up on them.
