diode-dynamics-3156-3157-hp48-backup-led-bulbs
Diode Dynamics 3156/3157 HP48 Backup LED Bulbs

The HP48 backup bulb replaces the factory 3156/3157 incandescent reverse bulb with a 6000K white LED rated at 250 lumens. It fits a long list of Chevy, GMC, Ford, Dodge, Jeep and Nissan trucks, and it plugs straight into the OEM socket.

Why it works

Built with 48 LEDs arranged to throw light in every direction, under a diffusing cover that keeps the output even and the bulb clean-looking when it is off.

Rated at 250 measured lumens per bulb with an omnidirectional, 270-degree beam, so the factory housing lights up the way it was designed to.

It is nonpolar, so it lights up whichever way it goes into the socket, and the molded connector uses sturdy terminals.

Plug and play: it uses the OEM-size base, so it drops into the factory socket with no splicing.

Options

Sold as a single or a pair in Cool White (6000K). Most trucks have two reverse lamps, so the pair is the usual buy; a single covers a lone cargo or trunk light or a replacement. For reference, the 3156/3157 backup lineup here runs HP48 (250 lumens), HP11 (310 lumens) and XPR (800 lumens).

Fitment

Diode Dynamics lists the 3156/3157 size for the trucks and SUVs below. Many of them use this size in more than one lamp, so confirm which position you are replacing before you order.

Chevrolet: Colorado 2004-2012; Silverado 1999-2013; Silverado 2500/3500 2014

Dodge: Ram 1994-2006

Ford: Bronco 1992-1996; F-150 1997-2008, 2015-2023; Maverick 2022-2026; Ranger 1998-2011; Super Duty 1999-2006, 2017-2026

GMC: Canyon 2004-2012; Sierra 1500 1999-2013; Sierra 2500 2000-2014; Sierra 3500 2001-2014

Jeep: Wrangler 2007-2017

Nissan: Frontier 1998-2004

Specs at a glance

Part numbers: DD0057P, DD0057S

Bulb size: 3156/3157 (3157)

Output: 250 measured lumens per bulb

Beam: Omnidirectional (270 degrees)

Power: 3.6 W, 0.275 A at 13.2V

Operating voltage: 9-16V

Polarity: Nonpolar

Operating temperature: -40C to 85C (-40F to 185F)

Connector: OEM-size plug and play

Colors: Cool White (6000K)

Warranty

Diode Dynamics backs this part with a 3-year limited replacement warranty.
