The TAC soft shackle trades the steel for a Spectra fiber core and an 18,000 kg (39,683 lb) breaking strength, in a package that weighs almost nothing and floats. There is no pin to lose in the mud and no thread to seize, so you can rig it without tools when conditions are bad.

At 650 mm (25 in) it has more reach than a standard short loop, which helps when you need to wrap a bulky recovery point. A tight braided sheath protects the core from rock abrasion, sand and UV. The finish is black and olive drab, aimed at people who want the gear to look low-key rather than shiny.

Fitment

Universal. Because it is a static rope, treat it as a rigging connector rather than a stretch or snatch element in the system.

Questions before you order?

Fitment questions are easier to settle before the box ships.
